PAF-KIET research collaboration agreement with the Institute of Radio Frequency & Opto-electronics Integrated Circuits Design (IROI) of Southeast University China.
Electronic Devices, Circuits & Systems (EDCAS) research group of PAF-KIET has entered into a research collaboration agreement with the Institute of Radio Frequency & Opto-electronics Integrated Circuits Design (IROI) of Southeast University China.
IROI is a world renowned institute, directly funded by the Chinese Ministry of Education. The institute has been given the status of a National Key Laboratory and is headed by Prof. Dr. Ing. Wang Zhi-Gong.
Research collaboration with IROI will enhance research capabilities considerably along with access to state-of-the-art circuit and system design technologies. This collaboration is expected to play a vital role in research and also serve as a basis for joint Masters/PhD programs, and exchange/dual-degree programs at a later stage.
To initiate the process of academic exchange, Prof. Dr. Ing. Wang Zhi-Gong, Director Institute of RF- OE-ICEs and Prof Zhiqun Li, Vice Dean Southeast University personally visited the main campus of PAF – KIET on 17th and 18th November, 2016 and delivered talks on the topics “IC Design for RF, Optic-Fiber and Neural Communications” and “ 40 GHz mm-wave receiver front-end design” respectively.
These talks were delivered in the context of a seminar namely “Integrated Circuits, Micro-Systems and Supporting Technologies” organized by PAF – KIET. Academias from all engineering universities were invited to attend this seminar. A live web-telecast was also arranged.
Air Vice Marshal (Ret’d) Tubrez Asif, President PAF-KIET in his welcome address thanked the learned professors for their valuable visit and was hopeful that both sides would greatly benefit from the mutual agreement to collaborate in research activities.
